KCC owner and director Nancy Kaufman will be a featured speaker at the 2012 National Conference on Childhood Apraxia of Speech, scheduled for July 12-14 in the Boston area.

The national conference is sponsored by the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America (CASANA) and features national experts who will discuss all aspects of this speech disorder, including assessment, treatment methods, education, medical and more.

Nancy Kaufman will present two sessions of Beyond Single Words: Scripting Functional Expressive Language with the Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol (K-SLP). Her seminar focuses on specific cues to help children know which vowels or consonants will begin each word, which phrases will most easily be remembered and generalized, and how to help those who need a script for language.

The conference considers not just children’s speech skills, but also their overall language, educational and developmental needs. Sessions to fit the learning needs of each individual who wishes to attend; speech-language pathologists, educators, parents, new learners or those who have already been on this journey for some time.
