| OUCARES Family Fun Day 2011 |
|
The KCC occupational therapists once again staffed a sensory room at the OUCARES Family Fun Day, held April 9 on the campus of Oakland University. This year's room had a fun space theme. Speech therapist Diane Nancarrow was also on hand at the Kaufman exhibitor table, answering parent questions and spreading the word about services provided at the KCC.
OUCARES integrates academic course work, knowledge and research with hands-on work in the community to prepare professionals to be leaders in the autism community. Through these academic and service programs, Oakland University also provides supportive individual and family programs. OUCARES, housed in the School of Education and Human Services, encourages the exchange of ideas relating to the education and support of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as provides services and support needed to improve daily living.
